With the joy of winter, brings…

Bugs. So. Many. Bugs

The snotty season is upon us – what does this mean for your session?

Being ill is rubbish and as we head into the wonderful winter with all of its beautiful autumnal colours, we also head into (what I refer to as) snot season.

The past 2 weeks have been a bit rubbish for me. I started off with what I hoped was a minor cold, but by week 2, it had escalated to full-blown flu and I felt horrific.
This means I have been rescheduling sessions left, right and centre in a bid to keep everyone else from getting it.

As a newborn and child photographer, this is a big deal to me. If I get sick, then I simply can’t work. What could seem like a minor cold to me, could be potentially life threatening to a newborn baby.
Although, I do sanitise my hands before picking up a baby and I wash all wraps and blankets after use. When it comes to colds, prevention is always better than cure and I simply stay away.

So why am I telling you this?

In the event that I have to call you to reschedule your session, please understand that by doing this, I have put you first. I hate having to cancel or reschedule because I know how much everyone is looking forward to their session. However, I don’t want to spread anything along either, especially if you’re bringing me your 2 week old precious bundle of joy.

On the other side of this, if your child is unwell, please don’t think for a second that you’re going to lose your deposit by asking to reschedule to another day. I actually really appreciate the phone call because I can’t afford to get sick and I definitely don’t want to pass it on to anyone by mistake, especially a newborn baby. Plus, your little one will more than likely be much happier coming along when they’re feeling more like themselves 🙂

I hope this article has helped if you are booked in with me, but wondering what to do if your little one gets ill. If in doubt, just give me a call 🙂

P.S. My friend, Hannah who is a newborn photographer in Willaston is running a competition to raise money for her Cousin, Anna. Go and enter to be in for a chance of winning!
